Accessibility Statement

Last updated October 2026

People often reach this site at a difficult moment, possibly on a phone, possibly in a hurry. Accessibility is part of making the site usable rather than an afterthought.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across the site, and we treat accessibility issues as defects to fix rather than preferences.

What we implement

  • Semantic HTML with a logical heading order on every page
  • Full keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
  • Color combinations reviewed for contrast, with text alternatives for images that carry meaning
  • Forms with programmatically associated labels, clear error messages, and no reliance on color alone
  • Support for the reduced-motion preference, and no flashing or auto-playing animation
  • Touch targets sized for mobile use, and layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling
  • Text that scales with browser zoom and operating-system font size settings
  • Accessible menus and dialogs, including keyboard focus management and escape key support
  • Emergency and crisis information reachable from every page

Ongoing work and known limitations

Accessibility is continuous. We review new pages against these criteria before publishing and fix issues reported to us. Where content comes from third-party sources — an external organization’s website, for example — we cannot control its accessibility; we link to official sources and describe what you will find there.

Feedback

If you encounter a barrier anywhere on this site, please tell us what page you were on and what happened. We will investigate and, where possible, provide the information you needed in another format while we fix it. Reach us through the contact form or at hello@alcoholicoutreach.com.
